Concerts
Musical performances of classical and folk music have become a staple of the Gennadeion public programming.
Paramount among concerts of classical music have been the performances of the talented young musicians of the Curtis Institute of Music of Philadelphia organized with the generous support of the Schwarz Foundation and the Nina von Maltzahn Global Touring Initiative since 2015. Several other concerts of classical, pre-classical or traditional music engage a large crowd of music lovers who flock into Cotsen Hall.
Several concerts explore the power and history of traditional music. Music lover and Grammy Award winner Christopher C. King has produced several successful events on the music of the southern Balkans focusing on Epirus and the Pontus. Other concerts have focused on Ottoman music as in the program by the musical ensemble En Chordais.
Several performances are available in our video archive of events.
