Στις 23 Οκτωβρίου πραγματοποιήθηκε ημερίδα με θέμα «Μετακινήσεις πληθυσμών, φύλο και οικονομία στο Βυζάντιο. Ένα συνέδριο στη μνήμη της Αγγελικής Λαΐου». Διάσημοι βυζαντινολόγοι τίμησαν τη μνήμη της Αγγελικής Λαΐου με επιστημονικές ομιλίες σχετικές με θέματα του ενδιαφέροντος της μεγάλης ιστορικού που απεβίωσε το Δεκέμβριο του 2008.
