BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE
Nellie M. Reed (1872-1957), a graduate of Cornell University (1895), attended the American School of Classical Studies at Athens in 1895-1896. Later, she became a Librarian.
SCOPE AND CONTENT
The Nellie M. Reed Papers consist of correspondence, papers and lectures including her ASCSA paper on Ενιαυτός, a page from ΕΣΤΙΑ (February 13, 1896) refering to Eugene Andrews's reading of the Parthenon inscription, a collapsible metal cup, and photos. Nellie's letters are a treasure of information for a period that is otherwise poorly represented in the ASCSA Archives.

SERIES III Photographs
Photographs of Greek archaeological sites collected by Reed in 1895-1896. Most have her description penciled on the back. Other descriptions in parenthesis were made by Ann Townsend. In the front of this binder is Nellie Marie Reed’s metal pyxis holding her collapsible traveling cup. The pyxis is inscribed with her name.
