The Donald R. Laing Papers consist of material related to his time as member of ASCSA Managing Committee (1964-1994), Publications Committee (1969-1976) and Summer Sessions of 1957, 1965, 1976, 1987. The Laing Papers were sent to the ASCSA in 2009 by the Center for Epigraphical and Palaeographical Studies of the Ohio State University.

Kress Funds Coin Project at Corinth

The Kress Foundation has generously provided funding for cataloging and photography of Corinth Excavations' coin study collection. The study collection consists of about 3,000 coins that date between 550 B.C. and modern times and it reflects many of the best examples of coin types recovered during the long history of excavation at Corinth.

While claims for pre-Neolithic artifacts on Crete have been made for decades, the Plakias Survey has become the first project to identify Mesolithic and Palaeolithic artifacts in datable geologic contexts, perhaps indicating the earliest seafaring activity in the Mediterranean.

ASCSA has been awarded a prestigious Challenge Grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities for $578,750. The School must raise a three-to-one match to the NEH grant or about $1.8 million, which will support improvements and renovations to the School’s two world-renowned humanities research libraries.
