Ο κόσμος των νεοελληνικών σπουδών είναι φτωχότερος μετά το θάνατο του Peter Mackridge (12 Μαρτίου 1946 - 16 Ιουνίου 2022), επίτιμου καθηγητή Νέων Ελληνικών στο Πανεπιστήμιο της Οξφόρδης, υποτρόφου στο St Cross College και αγαπητού φίλου της Γενναδείου Βιβλιοθήκης.

The world of Modern Greek studies is poorer since the passing of Peter Mackridge (March 12, 1946 – June 16, 2022), Professor Emeritus of Modern Greek at the University of Oxford, Fellow of St Cross College, and a dear friend of the Gennadius Library.

The Encheiridion Methodikon is the very rare first edition of a Confession book written by Nikiphoros Paschaleus; it was printed in Venice by Antonio Pinelli in 1622.

Εγχειρίδιον Μεθοδικόν, 1622: επανέκδοση μετά από τετρακόσια χρόνια

Το Εγχειρίδιον Μεθοδικόν, η πρώτη και σπανιότατη έκδοση Eξομολογηταρίου με συγγραφέα τον Νικηφόρο Πασχαλέα, τυπώθηκε στη Βενετία από τον Αντώνιο Πινέλλι (Antonio Pinelli) το 1622.

King entitled "On the Margins of History: The Music of Greek Jewish Women in the Early 20th Century" was completed with great success. As a strategic partner, the Gennadius Library hosted the event in Cotsen Hall at the American School of Classical Studies at Athens.

Με ιδιαίτερη επιτυχία ολοκληρώθηκε η πρώτη μουσική διάλεξη του πολυβραβευμένου Αμερικανού εθνομουσικολόγου Christopher C. King με τίτλο “Στο Περιθώριο της Ιστορίας: H Μουσική των Ελληνοεβραίων Γυναικών στις αρχές του 20ου αιώνα”. Ως στρατηγικός εταίρος, η Γεννάδειος Βιβλιοθήκη φιλοξένησε την εκδήλωση στο αμφιθέατρο της Αμερικανικής Σχολής Κλασικών Σπουδών στην Αθήνα Cotsen Hall.

Από τη Δευτέρα 9 Μαΐου 2022 η Γεννάδειος Βιβλιοθήκη επανέρχεται στο κανονικό ωράριο λειτουργίας της χωρίς ραντεβού. Για την είσοδο στη Βιβλιοθήκη δεν απαιτείται επίδειξη πιστοποιητικού εμβολιασμού/νόσησης ούτε θερμομέτρηση. Η χρήση μάσκας παραμένει υποχρεωτική.

Gennadius Library Opening Hours from May 9, 2022

From Monday May 9, 2022, the Gennadius Library returns to its usual opening hours without the need of an appointment. Vaccination / infection certificate or temperature check is no longer required to access the Library. The use of a mask remains mandatory.
