Research Topic: The Study and Dissemination of the Results of the Excavation of the Megalos Peristeres Cave, Crete: Hominid Seafaring and Environmental Impact during the Ice Age
Tom is a full professor in the department of Art and Art History at Providence College. He is presently the NEH fellow at the ASCSA for the fall semester. He first participated on an archaeological project in Greece in 1983, and since has worked on many projects in the country, as well as on Cyprus, in Turkey, and the USA. He has directed two ASCSA archaeological projects in the past, and now directs the Megalos Peristeres Cave excavation on Crete. He is primarily an Aegean prehistorian, with interests in island biogeography and Bronze Age frescoes.
