Research Topic: The Christianization of Thessaloniki in Light of the Archaeological and Architectural Sources

Dominik Stachowiak studies archaeology as a PhD candidate at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan, Poland. He holds both Bachelor's and Master’s degrees in archaeology as well as a Bachelor's degree in Modern Greek philology from the same university. Between 2016 and 2020 he’d spent four semesters at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki as a recipient of the Erasmus+ program. He specializes in the Late Antique and Early Byzantine periods focusing on the Christianization of the Roman world. As a field archaeologist he has extensive practical experience gained at numerous archaeological sites in Poland as well as Bulgaria, Cyprus, and Greece. In Gennadius Library Dominik will realize part of his doctoral project entitled “The Christianization of Roman Thessaloniki in the light of the archaeological and architectural sources (3rd-5th c.).”
