Wiener Laboratory Director, Sherry Fox, began work with the University of Athens’ first field campaign at Tell Nader in Kurdistan (Erbil, Iraq) this past April under the direction of Prof. Konstantinos Kopanias from the University of Athens. The excavation was featured in the July 10th edition of Kathimerini. Fox has helped excavate one of the individuals from the site, an adult female from a supposed Chalcolithic burial context. The skeleton was recovered in a prone position. The human remains can be further studied at the Wiener Laboratory where Fox can radiograph the bones, including a cranial fragment with a healed depressed fracture. Read the full article HERE.
