Xeni Arapogianni, head of the Directorate of Prehistoric and Classical Antiquities in Kalamata, attracted an enthusiastic audience to Cotsen Hall on December 7, 2010 to learn about recent archaeological discoveries in Messenia. Dr. Arapogianni offers in her presentation a breath-taking diachronic romp through the ages, sharing with us new prehistoric finds from the grounds of the “Costa Navarino” resort, north of the Bay of Navarino, as well as the results of her excavations of a new Greek temple at Ano Melpeia and of her investigations of an important complex of public buildings of the late 4th to 3rd c. at ancient Thouria. This lecture is in Greek.
