Each year the American School of Classical Studies at Athens academic programming begins with a trip to Northern Greece. Regular, Associate, and Senior Associate Members travel all the way up to the island of Thassos stopping at archaeological sites such as Stratos, Ancient Kassope, and Elaia and visiting the modern cities of Ioannina and Thessaloniki. This year the 2018-2019 Regular Year cohort was even joined by Whitehead Professor Tyler Jo Smith and ASCSA Director Jenifer Neils!
