The seminar will begin with a short presentation of the botanical drawing history from its beginnings and its progress right up until contemporary times. The presentation will be illustrated with a selection of stunning examples of the work of a number of artists using a variety of mediums. The participants will have the opportunity to experience the process of creating a drawing from observing some plant specimens, examples from Greek plant life. Coloured pencils will be used to create this image and will give everyone the exact idea what is meant by botanical art work. Maggie Niagassas has been awarded, from the RHS (Royal Horticultural Society), a silver medal for her exhibit of six paintings at the London Botanical Art show held in Westminster, London and during the seminar will show a couple of her own paintings.
There will be a limit of 30 participants and a fee of 10 euros (for the materials to be used for the seminar). For registration, click here.
