On June 15, more that 200 members of the cultural organization "Europa Nostra" (The Voice of Cultural Heritage in Europe, La Voix du Patrimoine Culturel en Europe) visited the Ancient Agora of Athens as part of their week-long annual convention. There, an exclusive tour offered by Agora director John Camp, assistant director Craig Mauzy, and former director Jack Davis introduced them to the monuments of Athenian democracy, while renowned Socrates impersonator Yiannis Simeonides recited passages from ancient authors that describe the workings of democracy. The following day "Europa Nostra" awarded its annual prize for excellence in heritage preservation to the conservation program of the central building of the Propylaia to the Athenian Acropolis.
