In late November, Director Jack Davis and his wife, Shari Stocker, gave two presentations in Zagreb, Croatia. One was a public lecture entitled “The Palace of Nestor at Pylos: New Discoveries” at the National Archives of Croatia, sponsored by The Greek Embassy, Coca-Cola-Croatia and INSTAP, and the other a seminar at the University of Zagreb, sponsored by the Department of Archaeology, entitled “The Greek Islands in the Bronze Age: Ayia Irini, Keos.” More than 300 were present at the public lecture and 75 at the University. Davis’s visit was part of a seminar series organized by Professor Helena Tomas of the University of Zagreb, on the archaeology of Bronze Age Greece.
