Corinth Excavations 2008—First Session Complete

Thanasis “Mangourakis” Sakellariou teaches Thanos “Tex” Webb to wield the big pick.

Ten regular and associate members successfully completed the first of three sessions of the 2008 season of the Corinth Excavations.  Excavation commenced in Nezi Field on April 7th until April 24 working south of the South Stoa where Henry Robinson excavated in the 1960’s.  The students worked long hours on Good Friday and Saturday to finish their area summaries, then returned to Athens to enjoy the traditional Easter lamb roast.  Many thanks to Nate Andrade, Nathan Arrington, Matt Baumann, Alexis Belis, Josh and Christina Gieske, Amit Shilo, Drew Sweet, Laurie Kilker, and Thanos Webb for their hard work and for creating a good working environment.
