Friends and trustees of the Gennadius Library met on a snowy March 2 evening to celebrate the Ninth Annual Clean Monday benefit. The weather did not keep most of the invited guests from attending and this year seemed particularly relaxed and festive with much dancing to the traditional sounds of Grigoris Maninakis and the Mikrokosmos Ensemble. Delicious Lenten delicacies were once again prepared by Estiatorio Milos's famed chef Costas Spiliadis and guests left with gifts of publications from the Library and unique Greek-themed chocolates from Joan Coukos of Chocolat Moderne (www.chocolatmoderne.com.)
Proceeds from the annual celebration are applied to the Gennadius Library Capital Campaign for the Library’s endowment.
