The first digital presentation of the award-winning Turning-the-Pages Content Management System was launched at the Gennadius Library thanks to the generous support of the Stavros S. Niarchos Foundation. The system allows the user to browse the digitized material in a user-friendly format, much like paging through an open book, while offering the opportunity to learn about the contents.
The first "book" created is the unique manuscript isolario of the Florentine Cristoforo Buondelmonti (c. 1420) with maps of all the islands of the Aegean. Historian Anna Tsokani has compiled the historical commentary that accompanies the book.
