Azoria Project Excavations Wins New Grants
The ASCSA-Affiliated Azoria Project excavations on Crete, directed by Donald Haggis (Department of Classics, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill), has won grants this year from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation ($100,000) and the National Geographic Society ($25,000) in support of excavation, research, and conservation. The continuing funding from the Niarchos Foundation, for the proposal "The Azoria Project Field Conservation and Public Outreach Program, 2017-2018," represents significant support of on-going efforts toward state-of-art architectural conservation, site preservation, and public programming.
