Ms Marie-Philippine Montagné (University of Aix- Marseille, France) made use of the Malcolm H. Wiener Laboratory facilities for her study on use-wear analysis of obsidian and flint Bronze Age tools. The material she studied came from the excavations of the French Archaeological School at Athens and the Archaeological Ephorate of Fokis, at Kirra. She used the Malcolm H. Wiener Laboratory metallurgical microscope and camera in order to digitize and record wear facet characters of lithic artifacts on the microscopic level. The results of her study are going to be used in her PhD Thesis entitled: “Stone and bronze, use and status of obsidian and flint during the Mediterranean Bronze Age: A use-wear and comparative approach”. Ms Montagné plans to return to the Malcolm H. Wiener Laboratory in Spring- Summer 2016 to complete her study of the Kirra Bronze Age lithic assemblage.
