The ASCSA offers an exciting and varied program of Lectures and Events for 2012-2013. We are mixing lectures, exhibits, demonstrations, and colloquia that will appeal to diverse audiences.
With the generous support of the Paul and Alexandra Canellopoulos’ Foundation and of Lloyd E. Cotsen and Margit Sperling-Cotsen, this year’s program features new archaeological discoveries and lectures on new directions in philology and ancient art and ancient, medieval and modern history. With the support of Margarita Samourkas, the program on Greek Cartography continues and is accompanied by exhibits of rare maps from the Samourkas Collection.
The program also includes an Archaeological Film Festival where a selection of archaeological films will be shown in collaboration with AGON and Fairfield University. In late spring, the American School will organize and the J.F. Costopoulos Foundation will fund a colloquium in honor of Carl and Elizabeth Blegen.
Finally, the Association of the Philoi of the Gennadius Library has planned two bookfairs, in order to raise funds for the support of the Library.
School lectures can be watched live here. In approximately 2 weeks they will also be available for viewing under our archived lecture page.
