American School Releases 142nd Annual Report Highlighting Major Accomplishments and Work
We're glad to present our Annual Report on the significant accomplishments of the School during its 2022-2023 academic year.
Among the highlights from our report are several notable exhibitions at the Makriyannis Wing, the significant progress made at the Athenian Agora and Corinth excavations, and the School’s hybrid lectures, concerts, and symposia that reached thousands of viewers across the globe. Mark Mazower (Columbia University) received the Gennadius Prize at the School’s annual Gala for his outstanding contributions to the advancement of knowledge of post-antique Greece.
Two major changes in leadership took place with Bonna D. Wescoat becoming Director of the School and John Papadopoulos assuming leadership of the Athenian Agora excavations.
Remarking on the report, George T. Orfanakos, Executive Director of the School, stated, “We are pleased to share this annual report with you, chronicling the tremendous work of the American School over the past year.
