A Celebration for Princeton’s Prince Charles
The guest of honor is crowned by Holly Crane
Britain may have the one with the big ears who picked Camilla over Diana, but the Princeton office has its own Prince Charles in Charles Watkinson, Director of Publications. Charles was feted at the Princeton office May 20th in celebration of his upcoming wedding to Heather Rypkema, a Professor of Chemistry at the University of Louisville. Event planner extraordinaire Holly Crane planned the in-office lunch buffet complete with games on British vocabulary and history (the translation for “spotted dick” anyone?), the requisite champagne, and a ribbon and flower bedecked 3-tier “wedding cake” made of bath towels. Charles received several beautiful gifts including a set of glasses and carafe, a marble and silver cheese plate, and to come, a framed watercolor reproduction of a Piet de Jong work in the Agora’s collection. The couple plans to wed on July 11 in Louisville, Kentucky with an event in Charles’ hometown of Oxford, England in August, and then will honeymoon at an undisclosed location (we suspect EuroDisney!) All of us at the School wish Charles and Heather the very best ahead. Charles admires his new carafe (akoue editor Sally Fay at left)
