Surfing the catalog of Lucy Shoe Meritt’s papers in the Bryn Mawr College Special Collections, I came across information about Loring Hall among the visual materials. The catalog listed four photos from 1931, two years after Loring Hall had opened. I immediately asked for copies and within a day Bryn Mawr College had sent me high resolution images. A pleasant surprise awaited me. I had never seen old photos of the interior of the building (the ASCSA Archives have old photos of the exterior). For me these photos are of special interest since for some time I have been trying to identify what furniture currenty in Loring Hall belongs to the original furnishings and what came later from Carl and Elizabeth Blegen’s house on Ploutarchou street.
