About the Webinar:
In honor of International Women’s Day, we are gathering a group of distinguished female archaeologists to discuss their experiences as directors of excavations and surveys in Greece. The theme of International Women’s Day in 2021 is “Choosing to Challenge.” Through a discussion moderated by two current student fellows, the panelists will discuss the challenges they faced in designing and leading archaeological projects over the course of their careers, as well as their contributions to the field of Greek archaeology. Topics will range from panelists’ experience of day-to-day workflow in the field to their participation in larger disciplinary debates. The session will end with a look forward to the ways in which we might build a more equitable archaeology in the future.
