The Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation is pleased to invite you on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at 7 pm to a presentation on a new cultural/educational project of the Foundation:

ToposText is a large database of ancient texts and places relevant to the Greek world. The ToposText website and free mobile application allow scholars, students, and travelers to read on the spot all the ancient sources that give every community in Greece (and the Hellenic Mediterranean) unique importance in world history and mythology.

Among those presenting ToposText and the academic and cultural context in which it is relevant are:

Dr. Eleni Korka, General Director of Antiquities, Hellenic Ministry of Culture and Athletics

Brady Kiesling, compiler of ToposText, former U.S. diplomat, and member of the American School of Classical Studies

Dr. Elton Barker, Reader at the Open University (UK), and co-founder of the Pelagios Project, a key initiative in the Digital Humanities movement.

Dr. Stavros Paspalas, Acting Director of the Australian Archaeological Institute

Please stay afterward to explore the rich historical collections of the Foundation, have a glass of wine and meet the presenters.
