“The Later Colts of Corinth Revisited: Current Status of a Numismatic Study.”

This talk will focus on the results of an on-going die-study of the Corinthian silver fractional coinage (drachmas) of the mid-fourth to second centuries BCE. The later production of the Corinthian mint remains poorly understood due to the lack of a die-study. Results of the study thus far include revision of the relative chronology of the Period V coinage and a revised absolute chronology of Periods V and VI, as well as a better sense of the minting pattern for the fourth and early third centuries.
