Douglas Smith is a Canadian poet and professor of English Literature and Creative Writing at St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, Canada. He is the award-winning author of 16 books of poetry. Last year Dr. Smith conducted research on Lord Byron in the Gennadius Library.

He will read from his ongoing projects about both these subjects, as well as from other poems set against “the crisis” in Athens and various other locations in Greece.
