Annual Meeting

Every year the annual meeting is held in North America in conjunction with the joint meeting of the Society for Classical Studies and the Archaeological Institute of America. The Association receives reports on what has been happening at the School, votes on the annual Alumni/ae Gift to the School, and presents the Aristeia Award.

The 2019 Meeting was held on January 4 in San Diego.

In addition to presenting Nancy Winter with the 2019 Aristeia Award, the Alumnae/i Association approved two motions:

  • “Motion to continue the annual Alumni/ae Association’s Summer Session Scholarship, and to forego the additional Gift to the School, over a period of three years, and to designate the Gift funds as a contribution to the Alumni/ae Loring Renovation campaign for the purpose of a large, significant gift.”
  • “Motion to provide $20,000 from the Association’s general account for the renovation of the Student Center as a matching grant. The amount will be released only after an additional $20,000 has been raised by the Association’s members.”

PAST MEETINGS

2018 Meeting, Boston

The Alumni/ae Association Reception/Meeting was held on January 5 in Boston. Bombogenetic storm Grayson may have reduced physical attendance, but by no means dampened spirits.

2017 Meeting, Toronto

The Alumni/ae Association Reception/Meeting was held on January 6 in Toronto. Switching things up this year, we had our reception first, followed by the formal program. In addition to reports from on activities of the School, the Association presented the Aristeia Awards to Mary Darlington and Mary Sturgeon.
